HONORS Titles 1-3
The Fenzi TEAM program was designed to provide goals for handlers to achieve excellence in training. We believe that once skills have been developed (original levels) that it is important to generalize those skills by training in other locations (plus levels) as well as work towards reducing reinforcement (honors levels).
The Honors title series requires the skills of the original Levels 1-6 to be completed in a novel location not used in a prior passing video submission and must be different for each of the honors levels. The exception is that teams that have a Plus title for that level may reuse that location. The Honors track also requires the team to reduce food/toy reinforcement. The only rewards allowed for Honors levels are those that are specified within the individual exercises as reset rewards or distraction rewards.
Details for the original Levels 1-6 are located on the individual level pages.
Teams may complete each Honors level in conjunction with the original level or may choose to complete them after successfully finishing Levels 1-3, or Levels 1+-3+. Teams may opt to go directly to the Honors level instead of the Plus level if they choose. Our general recommendation is to work through the plus and honors levels as you complete the original levels as that is when those skill levels as well as the handler’s knowledge of the rules will be at the strongest.
Location planning is important for the Honors/Plus levels, as the location may not have been used in any prior video submissioWe suggest thinking about space requirements and considering how planning may assist you. The original levels can be completed in any familiar location, including previously used locations — so if you think that location might be useful for a plus or honors level then make sure to submit before using up that location in an original level. For example you may use a location for either TEAM1h or 2h and then use it for TEAM3 only IF you submit the 1h or 2h video prior to the TEAM3 video.
Once completed, the “TEAMh” title may be added after your dog’s name at the appropriate level.
